The Story of .US
Stories behind the domain
Cogeo
Cogeo is a nonprofit consultancy who partners with nonprofit organizations to help them accomplish their fundraising goals through self-actualization, and develop into their own self-sustaining success story. Founded by two college soccer players and an artist, Cogeo has raised more than $1 billion for more than 100 nonprofits globally.
Traditionally, consulting firms have brought in direction and relied on clients to perform all of the tasks of the provided direction. While Cogeo provides strategic direction, it is only part of the story. The Cogeo hub in Portland, Ore., fills in the gaps of execution resources for nonprofits that are necessary to optimize the growth potential of its client partners.
Sample execution services include database management, digital outreach and management, prospect wealth screening, foundation proposal writing, corporate sponsorships, establishing and sustaining comprehensive planned giving programs, strategic retreats, as well as executive searches.
"Our goal at any given time is to put ourselves out of business. We want to leave our clients with a self-sustaining existence, to say to them, 'You're ready for this now. You don't need us anymore.'" - Patrick Sampson, CEO
Why they chose a .US domain?
The reason we chose .US is because we are based in the United States but also it just felt like the right thing. It felt like an inclusionary aspect of who we are, of our brand.
